Overview

The U7 Pro Max firmware release introduces enhancements for MLO mode and improvements to 2.4 GHz connectivity.

Improvements

• Enhanced MLO (Multi-Link Operation) connectivity and overall performance.
• Further improvements to 2.4 GHz connectivity for greater reliability.
• Optimized connectivity across 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands.
• Refined 5 GHz auto-channel selection for improved network efficiency.
• Better connectivity performance in low-signal conditions.
• Updated regulatory compliance for Australia and Brazil.

Known issues

Note: MLO mode with WPA3 Enterprise may experience connectivity issues specifically with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

• Update your devices by changing the Device Firmware Release Channel in the UniFi Network application to Early Access.
• If you wish to go back to the Official release after the upgrade, change the release channel back to Official.

• Improved tracking of client connectivity.

Bugfixes

• Fixed client-to-client communication when connected to the same access point (AP) using the same SSID and band.
• Fixed an issue where the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was unable to connect to a WPA3-EAP SSID with dynamic VLAN assignment and MLO enabled.
• Fixed an issue causing the client to become unresponsive after extended use.

Known issues

• Enabling MLO from the UniFi mobile app (iOS) causes WPA3-Enterprise security mode to be switched to WPA3.

Additional information

NOTE: For the best connectivity and roaming experience when using MLO (Multi-Link Operation) mode, it is required to enable WPA3 or WPA3 Enterprise security mode. When MLO is selected, the UniFi Network application will automatically enforce this security mode.

NOTE: It's strongly recommended to have separate Wireless Networks for IoT devices and for MLO capable clients. Enforcing WPA3 security mode will break connection to the most IoT equipment not supporting it.

• Fixed authentication failures when RADIUS MAC Auth + WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise security used together and local gateway RADIUS server is used for user authentication.
• Fixed an issue where the 6GHz radio sometimes did not broadcast Wi-Fi.

Known issues

• Missing Radios->Performance->Connectivity statistics. Working on a fix for next release.
