    Overview

Enterprise Campus Switch Aggregation 3.0.8 introduces the third milestone of a foundational stabilization effort for Enterprise Campus Switching Aggregation, with a focus on MC-LAG correctness, multicast behavior, and predictable failover under load.

This build is intended for controlled validation environments. The notes below outline current operational considerations to ensure stable deployments while final convergence behavior is being tightened.

    MC-LAG topology

    • Manual mrouter port configuration is not supported on MC-LAG; rely on automatic election.
    • Short traffic interruptions may occur during MC-LAG failover while convergence completes.
    • In large-scale deployments or during high-rate MAC moves, MC-LAG synchronization and link convergence may take longer.

    IGMP / Multicast behavior

    • VLAN router migrations require IGMP Snooping to be temporarily disabled.
    • Untagged multicast clients directly connected to ECS Aggregation ports will receive tagged group-specific queries. Ensure multicast clients are enabled to process tagged traffic.
    • Multicast traffic is not forwarded over the peer link; network design must take this into consideration

These behaviors will be incrementally resolved in subsequent EA releases as convergence logic is finalized.

    Improvements

    • Added support for DHCP Option 12 (hostname) in ECS DHCP client communication.
    • Added expanded SFP transceiver compatibility with improved speed detection.
    • Improved database performance and reliability.
    • Improved detection time for port state changes.
    • Improved MAC entry synchronization between MC-LAG peers.
    • Improved STP auto-edge port configuration stability.
    • Improved 25G SFP transceiver compatibility with FEC-none auto-detection support.
    • Improved MC-LAG session robustness and recovery behavior during failure scenarios.
    • Improved MC-LAG synchronization of IGMP queries and reports across MC-LAG peers.
    • Improved MC-LAG peer-link stability under sustained high-load traffic conditions.
    • Improved IGMP querier election behavior in MC-LAG topologies.
    • Improved resiliency of IGMP Snooping during topology and role changes.
    • Improved forwarding behavior for unknown multicast traffic toward mrouter ports.
    • Improved overall system stability and resource utilization.
    • Improved service stability in MC-LAG setups.
