What is UniFi Connect?

Connect is a UniFi OS application that will help you create a smarter, more automated facility. In a matter of minutes, you’ll be able to enhance your space with a reliable, elegantly designed device management system that will instantly modernize your building and streamline its administration.

UniFi Connect introduces Rooms and Scenes, which are pre-configured settings that are applied to all devices in a specified room. Use these new features to instantly change a room’s atmosphere by switching scene configurations, or schedule the operation of several devices across multiple rooms.

UniFi LED Device Migration

To begin Connect’s rollout, we would like to give UniFi LED users an exclusive opportunity to be the first to see how Connect’s fully redesigned interface makes device management more streamlined and intuitive than ever before!

To migrate your UniFi LED lights and dimmers to UniFi Connect, please follow these steps.

Before installing UniFi Connect, please ensure that the UniFi OS Console running the application meets its minimum firmware requirements below:

• Dream Machine Pro (UDM Pro): V1.11.0-14 or newer
• Cloud Key Gen2 Plus (UCK G2 Plus): V2.2.7 or newer
• Dream Machine Pro Special Edition (UDM SE): V2.2.7 or newer

Feature Differences Between UniFi LED and Connect

Please note that the following UniFi LED features and devices are currently not supported by UniFi Connect:

• Device power usage
• Dashboard page
• ULED S support

Known issues

• Forgetting a device during its adoption may cause it to be permanently removed from the Connect application. To fix this, press the device’s Reset button and wait 10 minutes for it to become discoverable again.
• Restoring an UniFi Connect application settings backup file causes Console Settings > Updates page malfunction.

Overview

We are excited to introduce the UniFi Connect mobile app!

The UniFi Connect mobile app allows you to control and configure your Connect devices anytime, anywhere.

During the Version 1.3.29 update, ULED and UDIM devices will also update to their latest firmware version (Version 5.3.0-11).

Note: Once your ULED/UDIM devices have updated, they can only be managed with the Connect web application or mobile app. The UniFi LED mobile app will no longer be able to do so.

Overview

This update introduces new functionality and support for the brand-new Connect Display series!

The line’s first two models, the Connect Display 7” and Connect Display 13”, are PoE-powered, Full HD touchscreen displays that can present custom multimedia playlist content and real-time feeds from connected Protect cameras.

Larger-screen models are coming soon. For now, we focus on the Connect Display 7” and 13”, and their two new presentation modes: Digital Signage and Protect.

Digital Signage Mode

In Digital Signage Mode, the Connect Display showcases your multimedia playlists in either landscape or portrait mode, and gives you the ability to schedule when they are presented. This display is ideal for businesses, hotels, convention centers, and other large venues that need an intuitive, centrally managed content broadcasting solution to enhance the experience of clients and patrons.

Protect Mode

In Protect Mode, the Connect Display presents live feeds from your connected cameras and delivers the same intuitive camera management experience as the UniFi Protect application.

Overview

This update introduces support for the new Connect Cast (UC Cast), a portable, PoE-powered content broadcasting module that allows you to present custom multimedia playlists created in the UniFi Connect application on any HDMI display. The UC Cast can also be powered with its included USB-C adapter, and is fully managed with UniFi Connect.

Note: When you update to UniFi Connect Version 1.6.6, all adopted Connect Displays will automatically update to their latest firmware version. Adopted UC Casts will also update to their latest firmware version.
