Neu: Request #3120038
!!! THIS PROBLEM is a GENERAL one !!!
Renaming of ports in aggregate groups
is only possible for the first (primary) port
for example:
~~
Port 1 & 2 are originally named this way...
Port 1 Name = 20GbE <--> USW-Pro-24 (1)
Port 2 Name = 20GbE <--> USW-Pro-24 (2)
When you change the device on the trunk to another one
and you don't change back to "switching" mode between these change
you loose after, when new device is UP&RUNNING
(and you can't plan a downtime for it
to fix naming.
During active running aggregation mode
only on Port 1 names can be changed...
for example:
Port 1 = 20GbE --> USW-Aggregation-OG2 (1)
want to change Port 2 name too to...
Port 2 = 20GbE --> USW-Aggregation-OG2 (2)
but Port 2 is not accessable for this name editing...
Suggestion:
~~~~~
Why not defining an overall "Aggregation name" which is automatically used
on ALL PORT in the aggregation group ?!?
You can re-use the name edit field for the primary port for this feature
and set same name to all ports in the aggregation
This would makes things much easier ,
even when you watch switchports via SNMP via Observium,
where you can see each ports name directly (also the wrong namings, which you cannot change)
It's really annoying, that you cannot change slave port names
because you must keep all up& running
and no "downtime" is possible for a "stupid" disconnect to...
- change back to switching-mode
- rename all needed ports
- aggregate all ports again...
this not really possible in most productive scenarios, I think
