    Overview

    UniFi Talk Application update to version 1.17.0 is available.

    We wanted to highlight an improvement included with this release:

    Talk application ownership transfer: You can now transfer ownership of the Talk application to another user, allowing them to handle billing, subscription, and number management. The new owner can initiate an ownership transfer from Settings > System by clicking on the transfer button that displays next to the current owner. The current owner will be emailed a verification code, which must be entered by the new owner in the Talk application to complete the transfer. Please note that the new owner must be an Administrator in UniFI OS. We also recommend resubscribing immediately after the ownership transfer to avoid service disruption.

    Overview

    We wanted to highlight an improvement included with this release:

    Improved Backup and Restore Process: You can now back up and restore your Talk application configuration by using the Config Backup features found in the latest versions of UniFi OS. These Config Backup features can be found at Settings > System in UniFi OS - from here, you can enable automatic cloud config backups, manually save a cloud config backup to the cloud, and download config backup files. When restoring your UniFi OS Console from the cloud or a backup file, you can recover your Talk subscription, numbers, and application configuration. However, please note that audio files (Smart Attendant greetings, custom hold music, voicemail & voicemail greetings, and call recordings) are not restored as a part of this process. To preserve your audio files, please use the Audio Data Export feature found in the Talk application at Settings > System.

    Improvements

    • Improve backup and restore process when using UniFi OS Config Backup features.
    • Add billing address fields to the payment form.

    Overview

    We wanted to highlight several improvements included with this release:

    • SMS: We've added the ability to send and receive SMS with your Talk numbers so you can interact and engage with your contacts in more ways. You can enable SMS from Settings > Numbers & Subscription, and currently a Talk subscription includes 50 monthly SMS messages per number (pooled) for messages sent and received in the US, Canada, and Mexico.
    • Ring Flow: You can now customize a ringing sequence for a user's incoming calls from the Manage tab in their profile side panel with Ring Flow. For example, create a Ring Flow for a user to also route incoming calls to their mobile phone number(s), in case they don't initially answer with their Talk phone.
    • Failover Redirect Number: We've added the ability to set a redirect number from Settings > Call Settings in case your Talk application, UniFi OS Console, or Internet connection goes offline. All incoming calls to your Talk numbers will be forwarded to this redirect number during downtime. Additionally, you can configure email, Slack, and/or Microsoft Teams notifications for these incidents from Settings > Notifications.
    • Intercom: You can manage a user's intercom status from the Manage tab in their profile side panel. Intercom is currently available on UTP-Touch 1.7.0.
    • Extensions for Smart Attendants: You can now assign an extension to a Smart Attendant. This allows you to transfer calls to Smart Attendants, including from within other Smart Attendants.

    Improvements

    • Add ability to enable SMS on Talk numbers.
    • Add ability to customize Ring Flow for a user's incoming calls.
    • Add ability to set a failover redirect number.
    • Add notifications for new SMS and failed incoming calls.
    • Add ability to send notifications to Slack and Microsoft Teams.
    • Add ability to manage users' intercom status (intercom is currently available on UTP-Touch 1.7.0).
    • Add ability to add extensions to Smart Attendants.

    Overview

    This version fixes an issue that affected a small subset of users on UniFi Talk versions 1.18.5 and 1.18.6.

    You do not need to install this version unless you are unable to receive incoming calls to numbers assigned to Groups or Smart Attendants. After this update, your Talk phones will not display additional information on the source of Smart Attendant, Group, transferred, and Ring Flow calls.

    Overview

    We wanted to highlight an improvement included with this release:

    Call parking is now available for users with a group or individually assigned UniFi Talk number. First, create a parking lot from the UniFi Talk application's settings. You can then place a call on hold from one member's phone using the Park button and answer it from any other member's phone by tapping on the parked call from the Recent screen.

The application Dashboard has been updated to include new metrics such as Service Health and Answer Rate to help administrators quickly evaluate system and operational performance.
