  • UAP Firmware 6.2.9

    https://community.ui.com/releases/UAP-Firmware-6-2-9/f2fcab20-edc7-4838-b377-4077cf3a5112

    Overview

This version provides a new High-Performance Devices (band steering) logic. This new logic is less strict than the implementation in previous versions and allows dual-band devices join the 2.4GHz network under certain conditions. Users should expect better interoperability (like less client error messages during association, more reliable access for all device types) and extended range in case of insufficient 5GHz signal level.

If a 5GHz-capable client happens to get onto the 2.4GHz network, the new logic will also try to steer the client to the 5GHz network post-association using BSS Transition Management frames.

Please test with various devices, observe if they always use the optimal band, and report any client error messages during association, incorrect band usage or blocked access.

Please disable Band Steering under the AP Property Panel when testing the new implementation of Band Steering (High Performance Devices) under WLAN settings.

    Improvements

    • [UAP] Revamp Band Steering (previously called High Performance Devices).
    • [Common] Ensure devices can reliably reach the Network Application after losing connectivity temporarily.

    Bugfixes

    • [Common] Fix firmware version being incorrectly reported as 6.0.123 occasionally.
    • [UAP-Gen6] Fix WPA3 connectivity issues.
    • [U6-Enterprise] Fix not being able to connect to an Open WLAN on 6GHz (OWE).

    Additional information

Please report any issues you encounter with this release using the Report Bug form.

    • U6-Pro/Mesh needs to be upgraded to 5.67.0 first before upgrading to 5.68.0+.

Jetzt meine ganzen 17 Geräte was 5Ghz können.

  • Please disable Band Steering under the AP Property Panel when testing the new implementation of Band Steering (High Performance Devices) under WLAN settings.

  • UAP Firmware 6.0.15

    https://community.ui.com/releases/UAP-Firmware-6-0-15/45a9234c-b0d0-4488-a503-81e5200efe80

    Overview

    * Changelog is since 6.0.14.

We realize that the version string on this release is lower than our previous beta release. The reason for this tag being released to beta is that we are trying to release some bug fixes to the public (Official).

Thank you for being a great beta community!

    Improvements

    • [Gen4/Gen5] Improve overall stability.
    • [Common] Ensure devices can reliably reach the Network Application after losing connectivity temporarily. This also resolves high CPU usage reported by some users.
    • [Common] Update regulatory data for Bahrain to align with country requirements.

    Bugfixes

    • [UAP-Gen6] Resolve issues with upgrading the AP, requiring a manual power cycle and SSH upgrade. Please note that this fix will apply when updating from 6.0.15. It is possible to experience the bug when upgrading to 6.0.15 from affected versions.
    • [UAP-Gen2/3/4/5] Fix multicast issues affecting IoT device interoperability.
    • [UAP-Gen5] Fix 5GHz radio not broadcasting after a DFS hit when bandwidth is set to HE160.
    • [UAP-Gen4] Resolve throughput issues with Samsung A-series devices.
    • [UAP-Gen2] Fix reboot loop when the same VLAN ID is used for management and WLAN. This should resolve the reboot loops certain users were experiencing right after upgrading.
    • [UAP-Gen2] Fix iOS connectivity issues that primarily occurred in networks with wireless uplinks (associated with `ol_txrx_ast_find_hash_remove` in the logs).
    • [Common] Fix firmware version being incorrectly reported as 6.0.123 occasionally.

    UAP Firmware 6.2.13

    https://community.ui.com/releases/UAP-Firmware-6-2-13/8af48ad1-8078-4139-8ae3-3d1e81fa443d

    Overview

    * Changelog is since 6.2.9.

Please pay special attention to the stability of your APs on this release. We would like to identify and fix any remaining kernel instabilities leading to unexpected reboots.

If you notice an unexpected reboot, please SSH into the AP and run oopsdump; cat /var/run/last-crashlog.txt and share the output. Thank you all!

    Improvements

    • [UAP-Gen2/Gen3/Gen6] Improve compatibility with legacy 802.11b devices.
    • [UAP-Gen4/Gen5] Revamp dynamic VLAN to reduce memory usage overhead. Please let us know if any issues with RADIUS assigned VLANs are observed starting this version.
    • [UAP-Gen4/Gen5] Improve overall system load.
    • [UAP] Update regulatory data for Israel and Bahrain to align with country requirements.
    • [UAP] Restructure the impact of DNS timeouts on the Wireless Experience Score.
    • [UAP] Setting the transmission power to 'Low' will now set it to 11dBm instead of the minimum possible for the radio (often 6dBm). The 'Custom' mode still allows the transmission power to be set to the minimum value, if that is what users desire.
    • [U-LTE-Pro] Improve SIM card removal detection.

    Bugfixes

    • [UAP-Gen6] Fix radios not broadcasting in certain countries, starting 6.2.9.
    • [UAP-Gen6] Fix ghost MAC addresses in client list caused by Gen6 APs, introduced in 6.2.9.
    • [UAP-Gen6] Resolve issues with upgrading the AP, requiring a manual power cycle and SSH upgrade. Please note that this fix will apply when updating from 6.0.15 and 6.2.13. It is possible to experience the bug when upgrading to 6.2.13 from affected versions.

    • [UAP-Gen4] Resolve throughput issues with Samsung A-series devices.
    • [U6-LR] Fix being unable to set the 2.4GHz Transmission Power to the maximum support value when setting a custom TX power value.
    • [UAP-Gen2] Fix wireless uplink stability issues.
    • [UAP] Fix WEP broadcasting as Open, introduced in 6.0.x.
    • [UAP] Fix band steering interfering with minimum RSSI leading to clients disconnecting and reconnecting repeatedly, introduced in 6.2.9.
    • [UAP] Partly fix hostnames in guest preauthorized access list not working. Full fix will be rolled in via a Network Application update. This partial fix covers cases where guest VLANs are in use.
    • [UAP] Fix wireless uplink issues when uplink monitor is set to check connectivity to 127.0.0.1 (localhost).
    • [UAP] Fix AP reboot when trying to adopt a UniFi Talk ATA.
